Are the plates food safe?
Yes, all items are food and dishwasher safe. Hand washing is recommended.
**Note: All dinnerware is food safe and dishwasher safe. Although it will withstand the microwave, it is not suggested since it will eventually cause cracking over time. Never take the plate from one extreme temperature to the other. Such as the refrigerator to the microwave, as it may crack.
May I choose different wording than what is shown?
Yes. In most cases you may change the wording on a plate and where it appears on the rim.
May I choose colors of a plate?
Yes! You are free to choose colors such as the rim color, cake color on birthday plates, etc. Please see our color chart to view color choices. If colors are not specified for cakes, etc. I will paint them to coordinate with your rim color choice.
**Please remember that color representation may vary depending on your computer settings. I cannot guarantee an exact color match but am happy to assist you in choosing colors.
What is your order policy?
All items are hand painted with your information. Orders are not refundable or exchangeable. Please double check your order before you submit it to verify all dates and spelling are correct. When I receive your order I will send you an email confirmation, including the order details. You will have 48 hours to review and submit any corrections. Feel free to contact me at any time regarding any corrections, however, I will only be able to make corrections if I have not started on your order.
How long does an order take?
Orders are accepted on a first come first serve basis. I will start on your order as soon as I receive payment. Orders are shipped approximately 10 days – 2 weeks from payment unless notified otherwise. If you have a deadline for needing an item, please contact me prior to ordering for a firm estimate.

What is your shipping policy?
Please note I do not ship to addresses outside the US. Most orders are shipped FedEx Ground and do not require a signature. (The package will be left at the door in the event no one is home.) Please allow 2-6 business days for FedEx Ground delivery from the date your order is shipped. Overnight, or 2-Day shipping is available at the customers expense.
When your order ships you will receive an email with a tracking number and an expected arrival date.

Do I pay sales tax when I purchase from Cottage Joy?
We are located in Lincoln, Nebraska. Our shopping cart is configured to apply appropriate sales tax to transactions being shipped to an address inside Nebraska.
